The content matter is so adult, but presented in such a child-friendly way. It's not as timeless as some of his other works, but the illustrations are on-point, as always. I think it introduces children to several important concepts at an early age, and Sendak had a talent for projects that really treated children like people instead of coddling them with nonsense. I appreciate this book more as an adult for the impact it had on me as a child.
