Don’t listen to people saying to go up a size!! They clearly don’t know there own jacket size... Im 5’10 and 175 lbs and I wear a large. I ordered an XL because everyone said to go up a size and it is HUGE. Even the large is a little big but I like a coat to be a little on the larger size. The coat is excellent however.I have to say that this coat keeps you warm in cold weather to the point of sweating into the clothes you are wearing under it. My biggest concern is that the is on the left side making it very difficult to start and zip. Recommend buying one size up from your normal size. I will probably return if possible and not buy again. The fit of this coat is great - not super bulky. It is plenty warm for -20 weather. Have not tested in rain yet though.PerfectVery warm coatVery good and quality jacketI'm a 6'1" tall male, just under 14 stone with a 43" chest and fairly broad shoulders. I ordered both a Medium and a Large as Parkas by other brands tend to come up really big and bulky and I wanted a slimmer fit. I initially opted for the Medium and packed the large up for return. But wearing the medium around the house for a few minutes at a time over a couple of hours I started to suspect it was a bit tight. Particularly under the arms, over the chest and with the hood up it pulled ever so slightly on the top of my head. Considering Jack Wolfskin recommend tumble drying there was no room for even the slightest tightening up when washing. So I tried the Large again. There is actually very little difference to be honest which might explain why these come in 6 different sizes. But the Large didn't feel to tight in any of the ways the Medium did. It does look slightly bulkier, but not overly so like the ridiculously huge Berghaus Parka I tried previously. One thing to note though is that the necks are quite tight and snug.So all in all it's quite a slim fitting Parka with nice long sleeves and a decent hood. Weather protection seems very good so far - it's very warm, padded and keeps the wind and rain out. The draw strings are fiddly but other than slightly pulling in the waist band I won't really have a need to use them. This is just what I was after and the price I paid from Amazon was half the retail price from Jack Wolfskin direct online. Very pleased and I highly recommend this Parka. Bare in mind the points I made about sizing and consider that the available sizes are S, M, L, XL, XXL and XXXL. So for me the Large is probably similar to a Medium by any other brand. Was looking for a new winter coat and spent some time looking at a number of different Parka style coats both online and in the shops. After a lot of shopping around I opted for this Jack Wolfskin Glacier Canyon Parka and haven't been disappointed with my purchase. This coat is incredibly warm without being overly bulky or making you feel like you're wearing several duvets. Its waterproof, windproof and it has a good array of useful pockets (including a rubber grommet on one of the inside pockets to feed a headphone cable through - while keeping your phone/mp3 player dry). The hood is detachable (if preferred) and it also has a number of hidden cords running through it allowing adjustment of the fit to ensure it remains snug in all the right places to keep out the wind. The coat is well made and looks very stylish too, I'm quite looking forward to this coming winter to be honest...Been looking at this for a while before I bought it and did a fair bit of research. Have to say it definitely met my expectations. Really nice quality materials and finish. Lovely little detail all over the coat as you’d expect from Jack Wolfskin products. A few things on the issues others have had-1 the zip is not difficult if you look at it properly. It’s a double zip so hold both bits tight before engaging the zip and it’s ok. Also the opposite side of it sits in the middle of a flappy bit so just bend the flap back and it’s so much easier. Also, the zip pull is a longer thick piece with of leather which makes it easy to pull with gloves on instead of the dangly buts of plastic on string.2 the fit. I’m 6ft 3 and about 17st with broad shoulders. The xl is perfect. I know from experience that the 2xl is too much. Also the sleeves at this size are perfect for my monkey arms. The under arm is stiff but breaks after a few days. Be patient. Also at this size it covers my bum to mid thigh so can’t complain. Also the Collar round the neck is stiff but that’s nice for wind protection and makes the back and neck feel sturdy and warm. It’s super warm, super comfy and really nice .Snug, very warm, waterproof, winter coat.Tight fit around arm pits, as most wintercoats seem to be, but fits fine elsewhere.Hood and fur trim removable so many options, looks very smart and plenty of storage pockets.I am a 38/40 inch chest, 5’9” tall, and chose the mediumGot this jacket to deal with cold, wet and windy conditions. Very pleased with it because it has been very cosy. The sleeves were slightly long but this works for me because it allows the sleeve to easily come over and help keep gloves dry. The hood is very large and to prevent it being blown back by strong wind you will likely need to ear a hat such as a thick beanie plus reduce the volume by pulling drawstring and also pull in the rim drawstring. The rim drawstring is tucked away and it would be easy to miss that there IS a drawstring. No real minus points but I would have liked a large internal map size pocket.
