Description

The SELENIUM COAT is a very warm and very light down coat with a longer cut that gives you a little more protection from the winter weather. It has a high performance duck down fill that keeps you warm from your head to your knees. The windproof STORMLOCK fabric blocks out icy winds and boosts the insulation performance. In light showers, just pull up the hood. The fabric can easily cope with a few drops of rain. And if you don’t need the hood, you can simply detach it from the coat.

I was very lucky to get this on half price sale with free post to New Zealand, it’s a lovely warm coat. Was confused initially about sizing as the linked size chart has two ‘large’ sizes with different dimensions and two ‘small’ sizes with different dimensions. I found another Jack Wolfskin size charts online that said the ‘M’ is a UK 12-14 (US 8-10)and the Large is a UK16-18 (US 12-14). I ended up buying the Medium and the tag on inside says UK12. It definitely fits more like a UK12 than a UK14. Also I’m considered tall (1.8m, 5ft11”), this coat would also be OK for a shorter women as the waist feels a bit high although not too noticeable. If you’re tall you may find the Berghaus Barkley down coat a better fit as it’s longer.Very nice lightweight parka, very warm without the bulk. Elastic at the wrist so wind doesn’t go up your sleeve and a zip out hood. The navy is a nine alternative to the everyday black. Inside pocket is nice to hold a small card wallet. Deep hand pockets are nicely warm due to the soft fleece lining. Can’t wait to wear this during cold weather outings.Great coat. When I first got it, I thought it would be too lightweight to keep me warm. It's been great for weather from 20-40F. My only wish is that there was elastic by the wrists... they're loose so cold air gets in.This is a lovely jacket, well made and it kept me warm.My old Jack Wolfskin coat needed to be replaced and I am so glad I was able to find a close replacement. Handles the cold beautifully and is very light. I do wish it had both a zipper and buttons on the front but you can’t have everything.Great beautiful, warm jacket. Good wind protection, very comfortable hood. The jacket is very soft, light and fits well. I love this jacket!Love it. Nice and warmAwesomeI am a 1.64m tall person who fits well in UK 10/ EU 38. I bought S and it was a perfect decision. It is not too big and not too tight, thus I can still wear a thick hoodie or jumper underneath :) Moreover, it is super light but yet very warm. I cannot expect more than this. Nee, echt nicht.I love the style and fit of this coat, but it’s definitely not warm enough as a winter coat even though it’s down filled - hence 3 stars. If it had been warm it would have received 5 stars. It’s simply a fashion statement. It’s too thin to be warm, there can’t be much down in there. I wore it this morning in 0 degrees, and I had on a long sleeved thermal vest, 2 long sleeved tops and a fleece jacket with the coat on top, and alas I was still cold. I’ve kept it because it’s a lovely coat (though way too expensive for something that’s just a lightweight coat), but the search goes on for a proper, warm winter coat. It’s true to size, I bought a size 10 and I am a size 10. There’s room for a thick jumper underneath (which you’ll need if wearing the coat in the winter!).This is probably the most comfortable coat I've ever owned, it's also lovely and warm. Nice that it's a bit longer.I'm a size 12-14 and M was perfect. L was far too big.Highly recommend - great coat.I was delighted to received my new coat after much initial uncertainly as to which size to go for. I am 5 ft 6 ins tall usually a size 10 ( 28 waist and 32DD chest). I ordered the smalland I’m delighted with it. It’s roomy enough to wear a jumper underneath( not that you really need the added warmth of a jumper) whilst wearing this extremely warm, comfortable and lightweight coat. The coat isn’t tight fitting but it is has a fitted shape and doesn’t make me look like Michelin man !!! Which is an added bonus. It’s stylish and practical and incredibly warm. I love the warm lining of the pockets and the well fitting hood which remains in place in blustery conditions. This has got to be the most comfortable and warmest coat I have ever purchased. The only thing I did notice is it’s smell! The smell reminds me of the smell of a dogs wet coat after it’s been out in the rain (it may be the smell of the feathers I don’t know).I’m hoping the smell will disappear after I have washed it. Otherwise fantastic investment - thanks
