Description

AEV Colorado Jack Base AEV’s Off-Road Jack Base provides 3-1/2 inches of additional lift height. AEV’s Off-Road Jack Base provides 3-1/2 inches of additional lift height to the Colorado’s factory bottle jack – allowing tires of up to 35″ to be changed. The jack base has a substantial, 10.5″ wide footprint to provide stability in off-road and soft soil conditions. It can also double as a wheel chock in order to prevent a disabled vehicle or trailer from rolling. When not in use, the Jack Base stows neatly into the Colorado’s under-seat rear storage compartment found in both extended and crew cab models. I only have a leveling kit and a little bigger tires, do I even need this? The OEM bottle jack should not be used if your truck has a larger-than-stock tire size. This is especially important for anyone with 33-35" tires. I prefer using a Farm Lift Jack when I need to make repairs off-road, will this work with that as well? Absolutely! The Farm Jack footprint is molded into the Jack Base as well. This is essential when operating a Jack in soft soil, sand or snow. Is there anything else I can use this for? The AEV Jack Base is designed to double as a wheel chock in order to prevent a disabled vehicle or trailer from rolling. Where do most people store the Jack Base? The Colorado Jack Base is designed to fit in the under seat storage compartments found in both extended and crew cab models.

I got this because I got 33" tires. Well I found a nail one night and thankfully I wasn't far from home. I got the base out and the factory jack and got started. I promptly noticed that my usual jack point, the nicely flat bottom of the lower control arm wasn't quite as accessible. The increasingly bulging tire was pushing the base further out. I felt I rectified the issue by flipping the base around to the flat side which allowed me to get the jack better seated. I started lifting only for the jack to start to get off angle as the HOLES were allowing the jack to move. It promptly popped out a second later thankfully not with me or anyone else near it. Thankfully I hadn't loosened the tire. I kicked the base aside and lifted tire as normal pushing the factory jack to near its limit but it was enough and sable. There are no instructions or indications of how it is supposed to sit or if there are other points along the control arm to safely raise the tire.
