Great product, normally. I ordered a 7.5. Got a 7.5 box with shoes that say 7 in pen on the sole. Not sure how this happened but they are too small. To reorder do I trust the box and order an 8 or the pen writing in shoe and order another 7.5. Have to say this must be an issue with the store and not blame the product!!! Although why does this product not have the size permanently in the shoe or on the bottom.... hmmm all unnecessary problems to have!! One will never knowGood luck to next person that thinks they ordered a 7.5, maybe they will also notice the pen markingI wanted a pair of flat black sandals to wear to nicer occasions when I did not feel like wearing heels (or outdoor events where heels would sink into the grass). My mom has a couple of pairs of these in other colors and likes them, so I tried hers on to see how they fit. I usually wear a 6.5 and hers were 7s and slightly too long for me so I ordered my regular size 6.5. The length is perfect, but I have wide feet so they were really hard to get on and TIGHT. There is a definite breaking-in period with these shoes, and I followed another review's advice to wear them around the house with socks to stretch them out. Worked like a charm! Now they fit great. Be patient!I was concerned by the posters saying these were fake based on the writing on the sole. I looked at the Jack Rogers site as well as high-end department store sites and found that the soles have various markings. Even different markings at the same time on the Jack Rogers site! Some say Jack Rogers 1960 in script, some have Jack Rogers in more of a text font, some have Jack Rogers USA, etc. So don't assume these are fake because of that. I am sure it is a mix of old stock and new stock since the actual style of the shoe has been around a long time. I bought mine directly from Amazon and not a third-party selling through Amazon. They are just like my mom's so I have no concerns that they are fakes. Was so happy to get these, and although there has been much speculation about whether they are original or not, I found that they indeed are. They came in the original Jack box, and for those questioning them and comparing them to older Jacks, I would guess it's just a different manufacturer causing the discrepancies. They are good quality and do run somewhat narrow, which is good for me, but ran about a half size too large. I have sent them back and re-ordered half size down. All in all happy with the purchase, and a better price than I would have found anywhere else. It does take some trial and error with sizing though so be prepared for that....even if you owned Jacks in the past.UPDATE: Received the 6.5 and they fit so perfectly nice and snug around the band, just how i like my sandals to fit. Hoping they will gwt softer after some use, but already feel comfy out of the box :)So disappointed!I had my old JR's the exact same ones for 10+ years these new ones are extremely hard to break in and not made the same way my old ones were. i has to put mink oil on them and literally twist and turn them into convoluted shapes and even them they were so stiff and i got the supposed 100% leather ones that my shoe maker told me still had plastic soles. the thong piece dug into my feet until i covered them with a small piece of sliced straw. they are getting better but still have a long way to go. they don't make things like they used to. i should have just kept my old ones and had them fixed up.I love Jack Rogers! I haven't had this brand in a while and I don't remember my last pair being this stiff and requiring such a break in period. They will eventually be great, they just need some work to become pliable and more comfortable. The length of the shoe is good for the size, but I find it tight across the top of my feet. This should go away once they are broken in. I was hesitant to go up a size because my last pair stretched to the point that they would occasionally fly off my feet as I walked and I didn't want that to happen again. These shoes arrived on time and were exactly what we ordered. The only reason I’m giving this 4 stars is because when my wife tried them on, they were a little small. She said they did not fit quite as well as some other Jack Rogers she had. She probably needs a half size up from her other Jack Rogers shoes. Because of this we returned them, but will likely buy some new ones!I'd wanted a pair of these forever. I'm from the South and these shoes always represented preppy style. Being in a somewhat preppy mood this summer, I decided to go for it and bought my first pair of Jack Rogers. I couldn't have been more excited. Unfortunately, I am disappointed. Don't get me wrong, they are preppy and cute. The problem is the lack of comfort. They are quite narrow for a medium width, and I have relatively narrow feet. Also, the piece of the footbed that is under the heel continually causes a mild blister effect due to all the decorative holes. By the end of the day, I just want to take them off, and I don't walk a lot in a normal work day. I would only recommend wearing these if you aren't walking a lot, and you don't care about comfort. But they are cute.Bought several pairs in different colours. The platinum and gold colour are a softer leather. This pair seems much stiffer. I have a narrow foot so these work for me.The shoe was too rigid and lean to one side..did not like the fit at all..design was greatThe size was right for my foot..really narrow and the thong really pulls between your toes. Not very comfortableBeaucoup trop étroitA very stiff sandal. Had heard they were very comfortable so was somewhat disappointed. Perhaps they will break in.
